Free Sky HD?

I was contacted by Sky earlier today offering free HD box, free installation (usually £60 p/m) and free monthly subscription (usually £10 p/m) just for agreeing to stay with them for another 12 months. This offer is for existing customers for a change and apparently its because they are doing away with Sky +. Already pointed out that I paid £23 for new Sky + control just last week but if the offer is genuine it may lessen the blow...:money:Just wondered has anyone else been contacted?

Sounds good as long as you have an HD telly:)Norn Iron Club member No 3530

HD is well worth it. When watching the footy you can see beads of sweat and blades of grass in perfect detail (obviously not in active play but when they're doing close-ups). Oh and don't get me started on how good David Attenborough programmes are and even the difference in things like 24 or other HD shows. Don't forget though that non-HD programmes when viewed on an HD channel will affect the picture size and not all programmes on HD channels are in HD especially older shows.
So Sky are getting rid of Sky+ .... are you sure this is what they said? I'd love a call saying we could have our HD package cheaper but there are only 3 Sky options - standard, Sky+ and Sky HD which includes the + option.0 -
Apparently they are stopping manufacture of the Sky+ box although it will still be usable if you already have one. Seems there are a few more HD channels to choose from now as well and hopefully more to come.0

Call them and ask for it;) it is true they are no longer producing Sky+ boxes, only HD from now on and yes it is only 1/2 HD 1080i as previously stated.
If in doubt with sky at any time just ask them to cancel your subscription:rotfl:you would be amazed at what they offer free then:TI am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
Are the Sky + features included in the HD box ie will you still be able to record etc?Life's a box of beads - rainbow coloured and full of surprises!:D0

I've just had the same phone call. Looks tempting - I guess they are just banking on people keeping it after the 12 months are up (either by being so impressed or just forgetting to cancel!).
does anyone know if you can transfer recorded items onto a new box. We have a recording of the news which our children were on a few years back & would like to keep it. The person on the phone said 'yes' in a very vague not sure kind of way.
ThanksNow proud Mumto3 :j0
