First Direct ISA set up - paying in?

ok, I took the FD ISA to transfer my poor B&B ISA to and it has now been set up (and I have the transfer form ready to send off).
However, when I rang up to do the security stuff they never asked me about the beneficiary account which the welcome letter mentions (I put one on the application form but it seems that hasnt been added) - I am not sure if this needs to be set up to pay money into the account or if its just for making withdrawals, anyone know? I cant immediately see how I pay money into the ISA via online banking??

I wasn't asked for any details either. But if you log onto internet banking, you can make withdrawals from the menu down the left.
Internet banking also shows the sort code and account number. You can use these to pay in from other accounts. Alternatively, you can pay in at an HSBC branch or by posting a cheque. There is also an option online to order a paying-in book for this account and you can also order freepost envelopes.0 -
thanks for that!0

Does anyone know what day of the month interest will be paid on this account?0

I'm glad it's not just me!!
I thought I was going mad, not being able to see how to deposit money into this account.
I sent a secure message asking them how to do this yesterday, and received a reply today telling me how to withdraw instead of deposit.
Any secure message seems to completely disappear after it has been read - most frustrating.
I have used internet banking for many years, and have to say that the FD site is appallingly bad to navigate and to find information on. No obvious FAQ section either!!!
Not impressed at all and I think I shall close my account ASAP.0 -
yeah the internet banking site looked like it had been written as a school project
Its a shame you cant add the FD accounts to HSBC online banking as I have an account with them and their system is much better. I am sure I can cope with it until the rate falls next year though
