Whats next in the house buying/selling process??

I expect the reason for the delay is that they so busy returning their client's calls re updates, t hey dont get time to do their job!! No seriously you and a lot of other clients probably called. Give your lawyer a break when they have news they will call you.

There is a lot more to a sale and a purchase than meets the eye and it always the lawyers that get blamed for the delay. They cannot call everyone back and exchange, complete, carry out searches and complete other forms in one day even if everything is straightforward.

I appreciate they are very busy.
But at the same time, I am the customer, someone should return my call and tell me she wont be able to speak today or something.
Not being funny, but when buying and selling houses we pay various people alot of money, so we surely have some right to speak to someone.

I feel like a right pain as I keep emailing my solicitor. But he doesnt answer my questions properly and as a FTB I need to know and understand what is going on hence the extra emails he receives.

Hopefully he will get so fed up of me he will speed things up just to get me off his back.

I have bought quite a few houses and have worked with two different solicitors. I did find one a pain (was my OH's). Sometimes others in the house buying team can help. A friendly estate agent or mortgage advisor might have a try to enquire for you. It is worth asking. They are all in it for business and you are the customer. I try to choose good people to work with, then work out how to get the best out of them and then be nice to them. As I say having bought a few times I now have collected the team. I will stick to them like a limpet now. If you ar having a bad experience with one don't use them again.
It is nice to have so many ways to communicate. If the phone and email doesn't work, try a personal visit or appointment. With solicitors sometimes the secretaries are very knowledgable.

I emailed my solicitor in the end as I couldnt get hold of her on the phone.
2 days and still awaiting a response.

You should not feel like you're a pain trying to phone or email your solicitor.You are paying them to do a job,they are working for you!!!
My solicitor and her secretary are always contactable and if I do have to a leave a message then someone always calls me back!!!
I'd get on the phone and demand to speak to someone.
