Vodafone - pls help!
Hi,
Attempting to sort my Mum's mobile situation out.
She has been with Vodafone since 1994!!! At the moment she is paying £35/month for 700 minutes, 250 texts, and unlimited landline calls with no phone! It was an 18 month thing, and 16 months were half price, so £17.50 and it wasn't too bad. The price has now risen to £35 which is a bit steep.
Anyway, contract due in April and she desperately needs a new phone. In meantime have requested PAC as upgrades department haven't offered her much at all.
Just wanted to know what to push for from Vodafone. In November, my brother and I who are both on Vodafone got 600 mins, unltd txt, unltd int, BIS included for £20/month with Blackberry Curve 8520 on 18 month contract. She's adamant she doesn't want a Blackberry - she's only ever had Nokias!
Can someone please tell me what she can expect to ask for from Vodafone when their disconnections team phone her and advise what Nokia to request (she doesn't need anything with a qwerty or anything like that).
As for her minutes - she could lose the unlimited landline calls as she never goes over her 700mins anyway, and she isn't the biggest texter so could remain at 250.
Thanks in advance everyone!

Having been with them so long, you would think she would paying something below a tenner a month.
Clearly she is happy with vodafone in terms of mobile service - so I would suggest wait 30 days prior to end of contract to start haggling.
But really she should be getting lots of minutes, texts, internet and new phone for the deal she is on now. You could phone up now - and try to talk to retentions again - I would push for something below £15 a month with a high end phone for loyalty all those years. Don't be talked into another £35 a month (half price for x months) deal.
The vodafone reps on here will see the post (hopefully) and do something for you.
If they won't budge, just move to another network - actually you could ask for a PAC 30- days before end of contract and they will soon up their offers.0 -
Thanks for your reply. I thought she should be getting better than that which is why I posted, but unfortunately, noone else has replied. Is there anyone else out there who can advise with regard to the more specific details of what she can request and expect to get in terms of phone, mins, txts, line rental.
Thanks.0 -
She will get nothing extra for her time at vodafone those days are gone.
My advice look on the vodafone web site find the phone that will be ok. Then aim for £10 a month less when talking to them. Its all a case of how long you will hold out and if you really are prepared to leave.
If she does not get what she wants then ask them to ring back a little later, and check other networks out to see what they offer. Not sure how virgin signal is in your area but check their website out. Just do your home work. No one can tell you what is best for you that is your decision. The measure of love is love without measure0
