Hi
i sold a mobile phone, put the details in the auction that it had a new housing which had anycall on it instead of samsung, now the seller wants a refund for this reason and that she cant get the phone to connect to her pc. I know that the data cable works because i have put music on the phone myself!
What shall i do? i have already bought another phone and i cant afford to refund her. And as far as im concerned she is complaining about details which were listed in the auction?

i withdrew the money straight away cos i never trust paypal anyway
its a d800 and the disc is in with the phone, i know you need to install the phone tools so i have told her this.

this is the auction and she has said
"i recieved the phone today not very happy with the phone it is not as i expected, the camera is very fuzzy and the usb cable does not connect to my computer the front of the phone is not a samsung and i would like to return the phone and for you to refund my money"
the picture of the phone shows its anycall and it says at the bottom that i have fitted a new housing to it which is anycallTrophies are like Buses, you wait 26 years.

ask her if she installed phone tools 2 or phone tools 3 from the disk
she needs version 3, and the cable drivers installedEx forum ambassador

looks fine to me,
the fact she can't get it to connect is due to her inability to setup software, and if the camera is fuzzy, tough, she should read reviews first
as always though, you'll have to accept a return when paypal deems it's necessary, you can then test the phone yourself and ensure it DOES connect
ALWAYS make a note of the IMEI number of the phone to prevent 'swapsies' i.e. buyers changing your phone for their non working onemoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

i know it works because i used it for about 3 weeks, only reason i sold it is because im a nokia man myself, and just couldnt get on with it. I have sold loads of phones and had no problems at all. But i think its the case of someone not reading the auction and bidding when its about to end.Trophies are like Buses, you wait 26 years.

That's because she bought a P H O N E and not a C A M E R A :rotfl:
Expect lousy pics from a phone and you'll never be disappointed ;-)My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
The buyer has now replied saying that the camera isnt working and stating that the item is faulty!! I have pictures i took last weekend with the phone and also she has changed her story now from stating that it was fuzzy to stating that its not working. She has sent all the messages through ebay messaging so they can check these. Any other ideas where to go from here?can i make ebay aware of this before she does a faulty item chargeback??
thanks

You can always email ebay to see what they say though I suspect they will have to wait for her to complain. I personally would stick it out and tell her the item was as stated and for her to state that the camera was working (albeit fuzzy) she has used the phone and it has worked!Weight Loss - 102lb0

If I was you I would stick it out and wait for her to start a complaint/ chargeback with paypal. These things take time anyway.Paypal chargebacks can be a bit dodgy for second hand under item not as described .Buyers tend to think they have more rights than they do ( cute paypal gimmick ) in order for her to prove item not as described she will have to fork out on a report from a sepcalist saying the item is not as described and faulty or needs a police report.
Personally if she cant set up her software correctly and read descriptions probably I dont see her meeting the requirements for a successfull chargeback .
Unfortunately a lot of people read thefirst line of auctions and then dont bother with the rest, then they hate looking a fool and demand some seller to refund. Hopefully she will read all the auction the next time.
BLEUGH made an excellent point here
. This great advice refers to any item you sell on ebay.ALWAYS make a note of the IMEI number of the phone to prevent 'swapsies' i.e. buyers changing your phone for their non working one0
