Hi Cleosmum
Well done on cutting back on your usage. We might be able to help you reduce it a bit more. :j
Have a chat with our Energy Efficiency team. Let them know what appliances you use and they will be happy to advise of ways you could cut back.
Ask them for a copy of a booklet called '100 ways to save money by saving energy.' It's free and contains lots of useful info to help you save energy.
Check out our website (there's a link in my Personal Profile); particularly the interactive house, energy menu and Winter Advice Bureau. More good tips here.
You might also be interested in the 10:10 campaign. This is a climate change campaign aimed at helping people cut their energy usage by 10 per cent by the end of 2010. Again, details are on our website.
Now you have registered with the website, you will be able to see your existing tariff with all the other options listed below. You can switch to another E.ON tariff through the website, too.
This might also be a good time to check out the other suppliers. Pop your details on to one of the comparison sites and see how we stack up.
Hope this is useful, Cleosmum. Give me a shout if I can help further, either on the forum or through the email address on the left if you prefer. Will be glad to do so.

Hey Malc - quick question - I was considering EOn for my supplier in my new house - but having looking at the online tariffs available I don't think I can register for clubcard points (which would spring my decision)
The new house has economy 7 and we'd probably be quite high users.....any advice?Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

I was looking at the Fix Online v6 but you cant have clubcard points with it booooooo! If I switch my elec to Eon and do dual fuel I can apparently save £676 a year but for gas alone its a mere £146.....
Malc, has the Price Protection r3 thing finished? I hadnt even heard of capping until Martin started going a bit nuts on it......now I cant find any suggestions on which is best!0 -
Hey cleosmum - yup that was the one I was looking at waves hello
We're heavy users and use Scottish Power online at the moment - its the cheapest I've found for electric only - its slightly cheaper than EoN but the clubcard thing would really make me chose Eon instead
New house has Scottish Hydro and its not that cheap compared with other sites.
I like EOn as it champions the cause for renewables as well - but if there's no clubcard points - I'm better off with a different provider in the long term which is a shame............Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hi fayjmck
You can register for Tesco Clubcard points once an account has been set up for you. However, not all our tariffs are eligible for them. Might be an idea to have a chat to us before opting for a tariff, just in case it doesn't earn the points.
Economy 7 is better where a lot of the usage is at night. It tends to suit all electric properties, particularly those with storage heaters.
Hope this helps, fayjmck. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be glad to help.

Im sad, I really like Eon lol. Ive had bad experiences with EDF and British Gas so would never touch them, and Southern Electric are just appalling, I cant wait to leave them! Its Eon all the way, and I am loving my new online tool too. I am just so sad!
Have you looked on Eons website? They have so many different tariffs, there is bound to be a similar one that lets you collect points0 -
Hmm had a look - the ones it recommended didn't let me collect points
as we've no petrol with our tescos here - the only way to get that kind of cc points is to make sure our energy or something is linked to cc points
I love the look of eon - glad to hear you've had good experiences ETA thanks Malc - I'll have another look! The tariffs I was recommended didn't have cc points
Can you opt for something that's not economy seven if you have storage heaters? I just assumed I'd need a special tariff for that
Scottish power are really competitive and their online service is brilliant - I love being able to just see how much I'm using
If you're sad - then I am sadder
First thing I did in the new house was take my energy owl with me - connected it and made sure EVERYTHING was off!!!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

I could probably save a huge wedge as I dont really keep an eye on what we use, if I want stuff on then its on, if I want the heating on all day and all night then I just switch it on and leave it. The last month I have tried to turn the rads down 1 and switch off heating in the day.
We had storage heaters years ago, awful things, and my bruv has them now and they are next to useless. My bruvs store through the night and chuck out heat during the day, by 8pm they are cold. Im sure they need tweaking as ours werent that bad, we used to get heat til about 10pm. Anyhooo we were told that the only real option was economy 7, but we are talking about 14 yrs ago!0
