I've searched for this but not found anything like it, so I shall suggest.

Is there any chance that we can have the main user links (including the 'search' link) appear when we don't get any matches from our search?

It's quite frustrating to have to hit 'back' and go back to the search link (I know, I'm lazy) - I would be happier scrolling above the 'sorry - no matches found' message and starting a search again.
