Wannado hasstle

I am having a nightmare with 1000s of spam emails coming in every day. I realise that my email address has been hijacked and there is nothing I or wannado can do about it. I now need to contact wannado (Orange) for my mac code ( a code that your next broadband provider needs to get you up and running). I cant email them as they don’t give an address, I try phoning for it and can never get through, even though it’s late at night. I can’t even get a number to dial from the “say no to 0870” website. I finally got through the other night and was told the computers were down because of the heat so they couldn’t give me my mac code. Yeah right.
I now want to change providers and my email address to get rid of this horrible spam curse once and for all but I am finding it almost impossible. How do I do it. it’s the 21st century and I can’t even get through. The annoying thing is there are more competitive rates out there and I am forced to keep paying Wanadoo’s high monthly fees.
Can anyone help?

The only person that can help is your service provider, thats who you buy the service off. It's like you wouldnt buy a product from one company then take ask another company to make ammendments to that product etc
Not a lot else i can say but just percivere with their phone queues, if they wont issue a mac code then you'll have to get the broadband ceased off the line!0 -

Surely you should be able to login to your account control panel and create a new e-mail address and simply delete the old one.

Keep trying to phone them. You'll get through eventually and yes, don't believe the computers have gone down statement - they tried that one with me last month.....Plus if you are out of your 12 months contract, if you get through to one of the account managers you may even be offered incentives to stay - such as 1 or 2 months free or your monthly fee reduced. This may pay to do this for a couple of months before changing. With regard to your email problem, maybe I haven't read your post properly but cannot you simply change to another email address (don't they give you 5 per family or something like that)...0

I have just come off the phone to PRANGE-what I call Orange, soon to crash!!- where I have cancelled my account as I felt the Cusotmer Services dept was poor and all advisers have no knowledge what so ever about broadband. The adviser named N****N told me that I would not need a migration code as my account was closed with immediate effect! Is this true? I told him that a migration code is required, adviser said migration codes are no longer required.0

What they'll be doing is ceasing the broadband off the line, so a migration code isnt applicable as theres no service to migrate effectively0 -
No, cannot change my email as they use my domain so any way I change it they can hijack it. They did give me an insentive to stay a few months ago by reducing my fee from £17.99 to £14.99 for 6 months but I think it is up now.

I ended up getting through and they said they will email my code in about 10 days to give me time to look for another provider which is my next mission.
Does that mean as soon as they send me the code in my email my account will be terminated?0 -

By the sounds of that I wouldn't be surprised if EcosseAlfie is without broadband for a few weeks if Orange do simply cut them off instead of migrating them, not sure how a MAC works on a LLU line but
I heard they done the same to a few others so when I called for my MAC I made sure they knew I wanted to keep the account open until the migration was complete.0 -

I am still connected for broadband but don't have an account with PRANGE! N****N, Customer Service Adviser, closed my account and could not gain access to the account to give the MAC code!!! I have been refunded a months membership. Need to wait up to ten working days for broadband to be removed. Have Tiscali in mind, 14.99 for 2MB.0
