Going rate for domestic cleaners

Hi,

I have been quoted £18 per hour, per cleaner for domestic cleaning. I wondered if this is now the going rate!? I am intending to get further quotes but if this is what I can expect it is much more than I had expected and therefore I shall not bother!!

We are w. yorkshire based.

Thank you!

I have a domestic cleaning company who do my cleaning. The girls themsleves get £6 per hour and the company charge £12 per hour (Lancashire). This includes all cleaning products, they even bring their own vacumn and mop. It also includes liability insurance and they are CRB checked etc.

Shropshire £10-12 per hour - well set up company. But I know mums who do cleaning for less than this self employed. So perhaps a notice in a shop window?

In the last couple of years I have paid:

£6-7 per hour to teh cleaner and about £2.50 per hour to the agencies. 2hours minimum.

Now pay a cleaner £8 per hour direct. 3 hours.

    Merseyside.

£18 per hour for a cleaner???? Why did I bother to do a degree when I could have been a cleaner and not have a student loan?

I charge £7 50 an hour and use the clients own cleaning stuff. I also clean for a pensioner it takes me around 2 hours but I only charge her £10, she is a nice old lady and I would feel bad charging her the full rate.
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.
