Mobiles.CO.UK - Started Good and then turned bad...

Hello - I got a Nokia 6700 classic on a 250 minute unlimited texts package on a great cashback deal and ported my old number to my new phone. I had read one or two negative posts but I also read some positive ones. As it is now owned by Carphone warehouse I thought how bad can it be?

As the title says it started well. I got my phone delivered the next day. I then tried the phone with another vodaphone sim as I didn't want to stop my wife's phone working before she got home. Within 2 hours the phone died.

So I sent it back as per their instructions (at my expense) and got a new phone the very next day.

This time I put in the SIM I retained straght away and nothing! It isn't connectiving to vodaphone and I don't know why. I sent an message to their customer service last night and had no reply. This is the risk with a web only service. I just hope the cheap contract will not become something that will never ever work?

If anybody knows what I should do to make the vodaphone sim card work please advise. If the mobiles.co.uk moderator should pick this up even better!

I also no longer have an invoice as I returned it as requested. Not very pleased that I haven't got it back.:(

Please help.....

Most sim that are sent out have a 'transit block' on them in case they go walk about before they get to you. You usually have to call CS to get the block taken off..

As Jon 01 says, try calling customer services to make sure any bars have been removed.

Regarding your invoice, any carphone warehouse will be able to reprint it for you.

Thanks for the advice. All I need is for Mobiles.co.uk to respond to my messages!

Have you tried the other Vodafone SIM again?

Having ordered (O2) phones through mobiles.co.uk I didn't have to call anyone to enable the SIMs - just plugged in and went. MCU's CS can be very tardy - but they do eventually respond.....

Yes - done that. My other voda sim work perfectly. I have had phones come with SIMS before through the post and never had an issue. Thanks for the reply.

    Hi there,

Firstly, sorry that your phone was faulty, not ideal we know. The postage for the return will always be refunded as obviously with a faulty device it's our responsibility to replace it at our cost - a cheque should be on its way.

It sounds like the contract hasn't been activated by Vodafone - if you have not heard back from Customer Services within the quoted timescale please do let me know so I can follow up for you, but someone should be in touch shortly to get this resolved.

    Thanks for your patience,

Shop assistants with diamante ear-rings, bluetooth hanging out of their ears and phones hanging round their necks, whilst speaking Jafakean, gives you confidence in a company
