Me and Hubby are hooked on Pepsi Max, we buy from Costco for the best price! (Approx 66p a 2 ltr bottle).

the stuff sticks to your teeth like tar. lol yes it did happen!

My Mam did that, but the whole bottle just exploded all over her.

We were just driving into the docks to catch a ferry when she opened it, so Dad couldn't stop until we were in the lanes waiting to board the boat. She then had to get out of the car dripping in coke in front of all the other ferry passengers, and jump in the caravan for a change of clothes :rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....

Whats so great about Coke anyway? Its far too gassy, full of sugar and immensely bad for you. Anyone who has the slightest regard for their teeth wouldn't touch it. Look at the honey-monsters in the States - that's what "The Real Thing" does for you. It is however an effective sink-cleaner.

Having tasted a number of cola alternatives I would say that most of them served cold with ice and a slice are perfectly acceptable.

Coke has always been and for me personally the worst. Its too fizzy and sweet and the diet version is dreadful. Pepsi Max all the way.

The Cola zero is an attempt by Coke to take back some of the Max drinkers but just didnt cut the ice for me but was there best effort yet.

Son showed me a stupid thing the other day with Coke. You throw some Mentoes quickly into a full bottle and watch it go (do this in the garden or else lol). Theres even sites dedicated to it.
Aint got a signature - as I cant think of anything world wisely to say.

OT I know but I am an ex-coke user ;) .... I love the stuff but it makes my physically ill today! (I don't think the cause was Coke related tho it might be).

Pepsi is definately the best but I have a very sweet tooth - however there is a LOT of difference between Pepsi and Virgin Cola, I can play tunes grinding my teeth after Virgin, not so with Pepsi. Coke is OK, but an Ice cold can of Pepsi is the best ;):D:D

For those who say it damages your teeth, no way! If you brush them twice a day and WELL then it does not have time to do anything to them.

Finally to answer the question, there is NO substitute. Sozzer.
