If anyone would so kind to let me know if the price of £62 rtn is the cheapest I can hope for...

Travelling Sat May 31 around 4pm to 8pm

Returning Sun Jun 1 around 8am to 10am

    Thank you :)

It doesn't look as though VWC have released cheap fares beyond mid May yet so it's worth waiting. At worst that £62 fare will be available to buy on the day.

    Hi

Im trying to find some cheap train tickets from Manchester to London for 03/05/2008 returning 04/05/2008 for 2 people. The best I can find is £62?

    Can anyone find cheaper?

£50 (total) if you are willing to travel via Sheffield

If that £62 is total, return for the two of you it's a very good fare - grab it.

See my answer re Liverpool-London - better repeat it as posts shift about as new messages are added. So:

You are trying to do it too early.

Wait for the cheap tickets to become available ('exactly 12 weeks' is a myth) and then price them with/without a family railcard.

If that fails try split ticketing at Birmingham Cheltenham and Brissle.

By buying NXEC Standard Advance 2 or NXEC Standard Advance 3 singles this journey can be done on those dates for £35.50 out and £26.00 back at the moment.
Use the NXEC website and save another 10%

Just wanted to post up that I used the NXEC site tonight and got a massive £50 saving on a return ticket that I needed for June. Same times/dates that I needed to travel too but just way cheaper on this site. The CrossCountry and Virgin sites I had been checking had nothing in this price range.

Many thanks to Keith :A .... means I get another night with best friend and godchildren :j

I am travelling with my two children (8 & 11) to London from 6th to 10th July. I want to travel by train as DD gets sick on coaches. Have checked online and cheapest I can get (with a family railcard) is £110. Can anyone help me do this cheaper?

  • Hi everyone,
I am currenlty trying to book a train to Newcastle from Gloucester leaving Friday 2nd May and returning 5th May. Looking on the net its gonna cost me £99.80 a ticket. Friends of mine booked a few months ago and have a ticket for the same dates, but only paid £45 each. Is it worth me waiting til the day to see if they are any cheaper at the train office? Or do i need to bite the bullet and pay up.
