Any train promotion codes out there?

me and the mrs have to travel to manchester from london on either the 1st 2nd or 3rd of sep......
BUT..... the trains are bloody expensive, Any one know any promotion codes or way around paying full fare?

Cant go on coach as my wife is clustrphobic :mad:

If any one can help at all it would be greatly appreciated...

Mojojojo, see the post above, London-Sheffield-Manchester, click HERE for a really good site for Lon-Sheffield £6, then Sheff-Man from £9 but realistically £12 ish, £36 return each,

prices i am getting seem expensive...sure someone must have a code??

GNER has singles at £18:25 for the dates you want, you have to go on the train you book for that price,

yes they have ticket at that price for outward journey..but on return i wish to leave london after 4pmish..no tickets at all..cheapest is £34 at 6-20.

The 21:00 arr Newc at 01:12 for £8:90 too late ? Kings X to Grantham at 18:30 arr 19:40 for £15, then Grantham-Newcastle 19:40arr 21:49 for £8:45, it looks like the same train so no need to change, £23:45 total loks the best option

i want to arrive at london early pm around 6pmish..loads of choice.

how do i book the kings x to grantham and onward please........

Forgot to ask how do you find out about all these ideas to break journey? I checked GNER website same train goes right through.

Do it as 2 seperate journeys, open 2 browser windows to make sure both parts are available. I have been checking fares at GNER, HERE,.

You have to book early to get the best fares to/from London but always worth checking GNER to/from P'boro or Grantham as there are sometimes cheap fares to/from these when the ones to/from London have sold out. Pboro-London is £28 return so added to a couple of £10 singles from the North East isnt too bad.

Loads of tips on here re splitting journeys, I normally use nationalrail.co.uk but it is playing up today.

looking for a return train journey to manchester from london for sunday the 17th of sep...

arrive in manchester no later than 2pm

leave manchester no earlier than 8-8.30pm

cheapest i can find is £37.70...can someone please help with this if possible? are there any promotion codes going around?
