Where are you going? When? Did you get a reasonable deal? And what's the temperature where you're going?
I'm trying to book a cheapy few days in the sun and getting effed off with it.
We are going to Costa Adeje in Tenerife from Birmingham on Friday 19th (less than a week to go :T:T)
There were lots of reasonable deals to be had but the days of the cheapy bargain are over (both in the industry and for me personally!!). I am picky about where we go and where we stay. I wanted somewhere a bit quieter and more refined than the main resorts (cos I am a snob) and I am quite particular about the hotel we stay in.
For me it was particularly important that we went somewhere with a heated pool because I find in the Canaries the pools get very cold (I have only ever been in winter, spring or autumn) and that doesn't work with a babba who likes his splash splash
I also only searched 4 or 5 star (and only really looked at 5 star)...because I think the holiday company ratings are lower than the quality I would expect normally.
We were quite limited because I wanted to go on a specific day, to a specific place from Birmingham only, but if you are more open minded you are more likely to find a deal!!
I chose the location, the date and the hotel and then searched all the different travel companies to see who came back with the best deal. I booked with lowcostholidays.co.uk
Tenerife will be mid 20's. The canaries are fab for kids because there is always a good breeze so as long as they are out of the sun then they are unlikely to overheat.

Im kinda gutted, I wish they could have taken me in now and checked if I was doing anything at all.
Now I have OH whinging at me cos he wants to go to see his friend (10 min drive away) and I dont want him to go (sick of being left in the house on my own) but I cant think of 100% valid reason why he shouldnt go?
Because you have never went into labour before and you are scared?
Because you don't want to suddenly go into labour on your own?
Because you need him right there, no matter that they are not full blown contractions yet, niggly sore pains for days starts to get to you.0 -
It really does MFD, thanks - we're looking for the week after next, leaving Sunday night or Monday and going for a week. I'd seen a few places but really CBA with the whole thing so have put OH on the case with a list of requirements and have added "heated pool" to the list.

kindof - just be careful. I also didn't want to ring the MW too early and I practically had Finn in the car/middle of the road/hospital corridor. I think it was only through sheer force of will that kept him inside until 2 seconds after I stepped into the birthing pool!!! :eek:top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

kindof - if my hubby had suggested b00gering off to see his mate this time last year (although I was already in labour by this point!!) I would have smacked him in the kisser!!!
Tell him that there is no way in the world that he is going anywhere that it is not essential he goes (or you want him to go) whilst you want him there.
SS - even just a kiddie pool which is heated would make life easier. xxplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120
