I hope this is reassuring, but I read that the stop-start labour like yours can be a way of you getting further along and dilated before you actually 'go live' IYSWIM?You might find you get a shorter latent stage cos of all the work you're ptting in now IYSWIM?

    xxx

Yes that is reassuring if your right :) I would love that lol, cos then at least i've managed most of it at home lol :rotfl:

I wish I knew how dialated/if I am at all I am if that makes sense lol

I've been trying that kristal and DH but we're clueless!

DH can get 4 fingers all the way in until he's up to his knuckles (I sound like a prize heffer don't I?) but he says he can't feel anything even resembling a squidgy doughnut at the end of it!

    Did you do it?

What's it supposed to feel like :rotfl:

<ahem> lol... Yeah, but I've always been able to feel my cervix... It's quite firm when not pregnant, softened up in pregnancy and I could tell it was opening during labour... Not so much like a donut... erm... More like erm... I dunno lol... like something just stuck on the side inside... about an inch long... with a hole at the end lol...

how far in do you have to go with your hand?

Kristal you don't have to answer if you don't want to! A woman's ladygarden is her own private kingdom...

edit: stuck on the side?! What just on one side? Not attached all the way round?

Anatomy isn't my strong suit sorry :)

You can run your finger around the outside of it usually, but as you're so far on i doubt you could. I would say it's a little like a donut in a way, like you said.

If DH can't reach with a full finger length it might be painful to go up any further. Try putting one leg up on the toilet/bath this should bring it a little lower so it's easier to reach
