I agree. But what's with the foam they put on everything? Don't really get that! "Garlic foam" no thanks!0 -
Our routine is a little different but similar concept - started at about 8 weeks and it's made a big difference. First off, he gets 2 cluster feeds at 6/6:15 and then at 7pm, so I know he knows that means it's wind-down time. Then after the feed is a bath (only every other night), and a short massage and change into PJs in very dimly litted room. He's then swaddled and taken into his room and put down. He has a habit of howling when he's being swaddled, but I can tell it's more out of habit because the second you walk into his bedroom (after doing up the swaddle on our bed) he most of the time conks out.
Our night wakings have been a bit random lately but he HAD been going to 3ish for a feed and then up again at 6:30/7. I realllllllllllly try hard not to get him up until 7 (like you SJ, I want that to be the "start") of the day, but some mornings he's just not having it and he winds up in our bed cuddling/sleep-feeding. Though the past week he's been waking up at 1, being shushed to sleep, up at 2-3 for food, then awake again at 4:30/5 and being shushed back, then awake at 6 howling for food. But he's been sick so hopefully we'll get back to normal soon.
SS, just looked up where you'll be...not sure what your plans are while you're over here, but if want to make a family-style day out-esque time of it, I'm sure DH would happily drive us all down to Ashdown Forest. If you're thinking more lunch or a few hours in a coffee shop with just the ladies, then it needs to be near a train station b/c I don't drive. But East Grinstead is easy enough to get to (as is Tunbridge Wells). Anyway, just a thought! SS - totally barclays fault, send them the bill for the bottle hehe.
SJ - what pump did/do you have and do you express straight into the bottle if your doing it by hand?

nearly
kian's bag is packed. just need to pop the bottles in, and maybe some food for him depending on what time he wakes. i'm hoping if he sees every other baby eating he might feel inspired lol!! he's getting better though. his fave outfit is drying on the rad so it will be ready for the morning. just need to pack some bibs... his constant blowing bubbles/blowing raspberries means a lot of wet bibs
alarm is set so i can have a shower and 'do my hair' and if i have a spare minute maybe a bit of make up to look more like a 'yummy mummy' than 'slummy mummy' lol!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
I have an avent pump, and they do these storage cups which the pump fits and I now express directly into.
Think it's not so much exactly what you do for a bedtime routine or what order, just that you do the same every day so bubs knows it's bedtime.0 -
ooh 3 (now 2) more posts and i've posted 5000 times!!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0
