M+S Credit Card or Sainsburys Credit Card

in Credit cards
I am looking to apply for my second credit card. I have had my Halifax All in One Credit Card since last April. I have always paid off my card in full each month, have made purchases such as £400 (knowing I'd have the money to pay back by the time my statement has come through). I go into my arranged overdraft occasionaly by £20 but that always gets 'paid off' when my next lot of wages go in.
These 2 cards appeal to me as I am looking to book a flight/hotel but don't have the money right now to pay the whole lot off (I intend to pay as much as possible during the 0% interest free on purchases period).
My Mum said that I could be declined due to being too perfect of a customer in the sense the bank didn't make money out of me.
I was wondering what the likelihood is of me being able to obtain a second credit card? I am paranoid lol about turned down! My financial situation is still the same, same job, same home etc
You guys reckon it should be okay to apply for one of these cards?
Thankyou, sorry, I probably come across as paranoid but I like to be careful

I never pay interest and got a Sainsburys card no probs, not sure about M&S though.0 -
One thing to bear in mind when applying for a second credit card is how much credit your income can cover, e.g. if a lender thinks you are earning enough to cover borrowing x amount more money than what is already available to you.
Additionally, I don't know if it will make a difference or not - but the Sainsbury's credit card is issued by Halifax.
Why Sainsbury's or M&S? There are better reward credit cards available than these two.0 -
Best 0% purchase cards are listed here http://www.stoozing.com/purchases.php
Tesco has a longer 0% period that the 2 you mention.
Yeah, go for it, nothing to lose. 1 application every 3 months won't have any major effect on your credit score."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
Yes, you are being paranoid.
The most important think after showing ability to manage your debt properly is your income, so that will be the only thing when applying. And being declined once is not a big deal (3 applications in 3 months can look bad on your file, but not one and only for short period of time).
Tesco has longer 0% period and I don't know if you collect Tesco points.
Sainsburys.... well, I've never been tempted.
M&S is good card, 10 mths interest free and you collect points for all your spend to be turned to vouchers for M&S spend.
I personally have Tesco and M&S, never had problem with either.0 -
Thanks everyone.
I am aware of the Tesco card however, we don't have a Tesco in my town so I cannot take advantage of the points offer. We have Marks and Spencers and Sainsburys. I like the idea of Marks and Spencers of getting vouchers to spend in store as I get my big bras from there!
Thankyou all for the reassurance, I will apply for one of these soon!0
