No, it's called shill bidding. All my mates bid on each others items to bump up the price on ebay.
Is that not allowed?
It's strictly against ebays rules and is arguably/borderline illegal, not to mention very unfair.
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/seller-shill-bidding.htmlThis is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

Don't tell her, you will spoil all the fun for everyone when she comes back in a few days with her eBay tales of woe. :rotfl:0 -

The thread title says it all. The OP hasn't got a clue about Ebay.
Personally I would sell it to CEX and get the cash. They are pretty good.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £19,575.020 -

The OP came on to the forum looking for advice about selling the phone on eBay, they suggested they had not yet listed it, then later made it clear that the had already listed it so asking for advice was pointless and a waste of the time of anyone who had offered it.
Selling on Gumtree gets you the maximum price possible for your item without having any fees or having to sell it at a lower price to guarantee that a third party like CEX can then sell on for a higher price.0
