    No, it's called shill bidding.

It's strictly against ebays rules and is arguably/borderline illegal, not to mention very unfair.

This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

Don't tell her, you will spoil all the fun for everyone when she comes back in a few days with her eBay tales of woe. :rotfl:

    Um, NO

We get plenty of threads on here with links to shill bidders and a fair bit of the time their accounts are closed within a few days of them being mentioned on here.

Bump the price with the help of your friends. It is true some people will do such a thing. Next time to purchase on Ebay, I need to be careful.

The thread title says it all. The OP hasn't got a clue about Ebay.

Personally I would sell it to CEX and get the cash. They are pretty good.

The OP came on to the forum looking for advice about selling the phone on eBay, they suggested they had not yet listed it, then later made it clear that the had already listed it so asking for advice was pointless and a waste of the time of anyone who had offered it.

Selling on Gumtree gets you the maximum price possible for your item without having any fees or having to sell it at a lower price to guarantee that a third party like CEX can then sell on for a higher price.
