Yes I would think that it's definitely worth repairing and it could still just be an internal fuse in the PSU. There are various cheaper PSU's on this page and PC Worlds quote was labour + parts. Have look in the local paper you might find a local pc repair company

i did try another power lead of my other destop,still didnt work.
i get a bit suspicious of small shops they may make something else dodgy inside so they get more work ..lol0 -
update...took pc to pc world today,it was fixed straight away,it was the power unit and it cost £69.99 labour costs and £25 for the part,and its working fine now.thanks for all your help.0
