Yes, Tescos! They set the policy in the first place then dont act on it when it works in somone elses favour.

This sounds like there is obviously some kind of pricing error with the system somewhere. What you're saying is that you want Tesco to pay you twenty odd quid to take their shampoo? If I was the manager it would have been a swift refund, apology, and shown the door.

Sounds like a few Tesco managers I've met in my time, I've got the better of ALL of them because they were all wrong to do so.

Seriously, some people expect too much. As it stands, Tesco still paid you a £1 to take their products....yet you're still moaning?

I would be, I dont see why anyone else shouldnt, if Tesco didnt have the policy people wouldnt have taken them up on it. Also maybe you should read the bit in the banner at the top of the page (under the ert.com) ;)

Not only this, did you not notice that your bill was £20 more than what it should have been when you checked out? I could kind of understand if it was a huge shop, but I reckon you're just trying it on. Well done to the manager, they probably get scrubs doing this a lot.

Of course people were trying it on, I refer you to the message in the banner at the top of the page again, maybe you dont quite understand what that means?

Is there really any need for the name calling?

Thank you to all the NICE replies, i called head office and they said they would send me another £10 gift card so will leave it at that.

and to PROC this board is for venting and Tesco says on the "our Promise" board at cs if you are ever overcharged from the price it says on the shelf or sticker on a product we will refund double the difference back.

    Oh dear.

Tesco's DTD policy doesn't exist for philanthropic reasons but as a sweetener to discourage customers from going to Trading Standards when they've been overcharged.

Misleading or incorrect pricing indications are a criminal offence (under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, and now the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008) and Tesco have been convicted and fined many thousands of pounds for committing such offences in the past.

Managers in this situation should be grateful that customers have brought these matters to their attention in order that they can be swiftly remedied, and should look upon the paltry DTD refund as an extremely cheap alternative to a prosecution.

No, they stopped the policy of a full refund, and changed it to double the difference.
Those were the days, lived like a king I did what with free sirloin steak weekly and joints of meat they always incorrectly priced and a free microwave, blender, Xbox and games. Wish they ever changed it

My faves were the rib roast joints, I seriously considered buying a new freezer at one point I had so many!
