Buying an Iphone

Hi All

I'm looking at buying an Iphone off Ebay, preferably a 3g 8gb, but don't want to pay more than £160 this will of course be a used handset, my question is are there actually alot of faults with the phone, everyone seems to be selling ones with cracked screens or other faults such as frozen, or stuck in some kind of mode.

My current phone is an LG Cookie on Orange, would prefer to stay with Orange, so is it easy to unlock iphones?

Good or Bad idea to buy off Ebay? I don't want to buy a fake

Look at the completed sales, there have been very few go for sub £160 that were not faulty. You'd be looking at £160 for a broken one in need of repair let alone a working one.

CEX are offering more than £160 in cash for iphones and they are never big payers. You need to think a lot more case to get one.

Personally I'd say for smallish the saving your likely to make ( Orange network ones seem to go for £250-£300) of about £50 I'd say buy new and get the warranty on it and on the right network.
O2 ones go for less but you'd need to get it unlocked and will probably lose any warranty if you did so.
  • I've seen some go for £150, but they get snapped up within seconds of being on there...possibly thinking about gettin 2G instead
