Political, religious and sexual behaviors may be reflections of intelligence, a new study finds.
Evolutionary psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa at the the London School of Economics and Political Science correlated data on these behaviors with IQ from a large national U.S. sample and found that, on average, people who identified as liberal and atheist had higher IQs. This applied also to sexual exclusivity in men, but not in women. The findings will be published in the March 2010 issue of Social Psychology Quarterly.

What does this say about some of the posters here, & their behaviours & habits?

It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

what about the monogamy bit eh?
yeah veggie atheist here too. and monogamous (but think that bit only counts for blokes for some reason).
btw this is a very funny blog by someone not only about those who are religious but who believe in other mumbo jumbo like astrology, "channelling" and chakras.

I am atheistic agnostic with liberal attitudes, but I am far too clever to take that story seriously. Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists of choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable. J. K. Galbraith0 Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists of choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable. J. K. i am extremely liberal. i am a rightwing libertarian. if i was in power I would legalise all drugs for a start. as long as you don't hurt someone else (without their consent!!), I think people should be allowed to do whatever they like with zero govt interference.
If people want to be single parents, co-habit or whatever, that is no problem to me. However, only married couples should get tax benefits.
 You know it makes sense.0

because overall, marriage is best for the society.
why is it better to co-habit if you have kids than to marry? the ONLY reason is so one party can make a quick getaway.
money is irrelevant - you can marry for next to nothing. you don't need a big party.0

but not all people who marry have kids.
some people don't like the institution of marriage.
with divorce rates high it shows marriage does not stop a quick getaway.
people legally have to support their kids whether they are married or not.
people can divorce and remarry - even after childbearing age. why do you want to give them this benefit?
if one married partner does the dirty and then gets remarried they will get this benefit whilst the person left single won't. how fair is that.
 what about civil partnerships.
people won't get married because of a tax benefit.

..............on average, people who identified as liberal and atheist had higher IQs.
So, this means if you don't believe in a 'god' of some sort you may be cleverer than your fellow man?
I like that. Religion is a form of social control for those who need a guidebook to life....like 'Thou shalt not kill' .....a lot of us don't need to be told that.0

It doesn't matter what you say.... if you aren't a vegetarian atheist as well as a liberal - your IQ is too low to count!! (teasing)0
