    Evening Diary,

Wow what a disruptive day! Woke up to more snow this morning, not enough to have a snow day but enough for disruption! We all had late openings so wasn't expecting to go in til later but then my friend offered to take my kids down so I snapped her hand off! The main roads were totally fine by this point and my car was parked down in the village so I didn't have to risk crashing coming down the steep hill . We had some real complainers but what they don't realise is some of our staff are not local and we can't operate without staff! I get its an inconvenience, it is for me too and I work in a school but people have to be safe. Anyway rant over!

Had an unexpected NSD! Was supposed to get my waxing done and they rang to say the lady couldn't get in as she lives at the other side of town and did I want to book in for someone else. I said no and I will rearrange.

Got an email telling me DD had had a school dinner. My 2 never have school dinners and she had eaten her packed lunch so I've sent them an email to credit back.

    Food:
Breakfast - porridge with banana and nutella
Lunch - hm veg soup, wholemeal roll and yoghurt
Tea - pasta bake and garlic bread
Snacks - cereal bar and popcorn

Haven't even been to the gym this week with the weather and feeling full of cold and tired. My eating hasnt been bad though.

    Positives:
    * NSD8 of 12
    * DD was well enough to go back to school
    * We were all safe in the snowy conditions

So we are supposed to have more snow tonight but the weather forecast has been all over the place so I will believe it when I see it. Still my car is parked off the street as its easier to get out in the morning if it does snow.

    Hope all ok xx

  • As much as I miss the snow we never get this way. I don't miss the disruptions it brings with it!

  • We have torrential rain and howling wind right now (I wish my bedroom wasn't in the roof!) but probably better than snow .

Hope it's not too chaotic in the morning.

  • How has the snow been with you today Mummy? We got it bad through the night but schools were still open. Took an hour to get DS1 to school (we can walk DS2 to his school) Xx

    Evening Diary,

Im sure I say this every week but how on earth is it nearly Friday again! I am absolutely full of cold so I sacked off the gym tonight, I haven't been at all this week , really must get back to it on Monday. For now though I'm just finishing off the Christmas chocolates :eek:.

Today has been a spend day, £64 in Mr Als. Going forward I am going to budget £70 a week as this seems to be the amount we spend. Then il have a bit set aside for what we need from Mr T's. She says... as I always have a grand plan that never works! An unlimited budget would work for sure :rotfl:.

DFOD, I wouldn't mind if we had it bad enough for a snow day but we never do in recent years.

HHOD, our roof always sounds like its about to be ripped off when its windy!

PLMBL, Do you have to drive with DS1? We are in walking distance, I never take the car as its quicker to walk vs having to park a mile from school and then traffic. We hadn't had any snow over night this morning was much worse.... black ice thick as anything!
I got on a patch at the top of our street and nearly had a heart attack and then as I was scraping my car this kid ran past my car straight onto it and onto his back . He just jumped up and ran off embarrassed poor kid! Then DH rung to say there was another massive patch in the village which he had skidded on.

So tonight DH has gritted the street and its started snowing again ... couldn't write this! He's taken my car as its parked off our street to collect DD and her friend from Scouts. His is a rear wheel drive so he doesn't even bother with it in the snow.

    Food:
    Breakfast - weetabix
Lunch - pasta in creamy cheese and mushroom sauce and an apple
Tea - chicken with leek and cheese crumb, croquette potatoes and peas
Snacks - cereal bar and pear and raspberry smoothie

Think thats all from me xx
