Afternoon Diary,
Haven't been in from work long so just having a cuppa and a catch up on here before starting tea.
Sold 2 things on eBay yesterday so have £4.57 after fees to add to the pot. Might just pay it straight off the mortgage, haven't decided yet!
Today will be a SSD as need milk (pesky kids are drinking it like its going out of fashion and only opened a 6 pinter yesterday!). Tomorrow will definitely be NSD6 though.
SA, its been a 5 week month for me so hoping (she says) to try and spend less next month! No excuse really! I have £36 left in grocery shopping so Wednesdays shop will probably wipe that right out!
This is food plan until budget restarts:
Tues - pasta bake
Weds - garlic chicken (chicken in freezer)
Thurs - pastys (freezer)
Fri - cajun goujons, wedges and beans (chicken in freezer)
Sat - curry (freezer)
Sun - roast chicken (in freezer)
Mon - beef (freezer)
Tues - bolognaise (freezer)
So as you can see everything is bought/cooked and in the freezer already so theoretically should only have to buy fruit, veg, biscuits, fresh juice and milk this week! Will see how that one pans out. I don't want to scrimp too much as then I find I end up popping for top ups and spend more in the long run. Will update after I go shopping on Weds.
8 days until payday :j
Food:
Breakfast - weetabix
Lunch - leek and potato soup, finger roll (from the freezer) and yoghurt
Tea - hassle back chicken with pesto, tomato and mozzarella, roasted new potatoes, carrots and brocolli
Snacks - fruit, yoghurt and oats plus a few heroes from the staff room
Gym - body combat class
Hope all ok... Monday done! xxMummytogirls x0 -
Food plan looks good!
Jealous at your gym visits0 -
Hi there
Just wanted to post and say how productive you are in the evenings. I'd be inspired to do something such as ironing or making lunches for tomorrow if only I could prise myself off the sofa and the glass of vino out of my hand!
Love reading your diary! Keep going0 -
As fast as I run my freezer stocks down I build them up again like a squirrel stocking up for winter, although this month I've been using up some stuff that's been around for a while.
You're doing great with the exercise classes, that's one thing I miss about belonging to a proper gym. My work gym is cheap but only has a few bits of equipment, get 4 people in there and it's packed!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Evening Diary,
Wow so shattered this week! The girls have started asking to spend a bit of separate time with me which is nice so just spent the last hour watching dinner date with DD1 in her bed! DD2 has already put her request in for Thursday :rotfl:.
I really need to tell you all about the hassle back chicken I made last night, it was soooo delicious and a massive hit with DH and the kids. Usually when I make something new DH and DD2 take a couple of tries to get to like it and they even wolfed it down! Amazing how a few ingredients can make such a lovely meal.
So busy day, work, DD2s swimming lesson, tea and then gym.
Thanks HI, SMWP and SA.
SWMP we just have to be so organised otherwise mornings just go to pot . I think weve been doing it so long now (DD1 has been at school for 7 years now incl nursery) so weve had enough practise :rotfl:.
SA, its amazing how quickly stocks deplete isn't it! Never fear it'll be back stocked up again next week when the grocery budget is reinstated!
Will you stick with your work gym? I did body pump with a different instructor tonight, he defo worked us harder than the usual one!
So tomorrow DH is going to do school pick up and then Dads taxi (hes in for a shock as he never does Wednesdays!) as I have a meeting after school until 5pm.
Will go shopping in-between finishing work and getting back to the meeting. Grocery budget stands at £31 so will see how that one pans out and report back tomorrow!!! I have a list and hopefully I can get everything otherwise some things might have to be put back ... mummy means business now :rotfl:
Food:
Breakfast - weetabix
Lunch - chicken tikka salad wrap, hula hoops and jelly
Tea - pasta bake and garlic bread
Snacks - fruit, yoghurt and oats and 2 ginger biscuits
Gym - body pump
Oh almost forgot to report NSD6... 6 days until payday
Hope all ok xxMummytogirls x0 -
Another really important point I missed from my post... managed to get some washing out today ... first time since going back to work. A few of the heavier things were still damp so they're now in the airing cupboard.
Autumn definitely on its way xxMummytogirls x0 -
Afternoon diary,
Didn't get on to post yesterday... work, grocery shopping and then 2 hours of safeguarding. Makes me feel upset but a must. Felt shattered when I got in and then of course tea time and getting ready for the next day started.
So yesterday I went to Mr Al's and did the shopping... trying to keep within my budget. Had £31.07 in the budget and spent £30.77 :T. So 30p under ha!!!! I am seriously wanting to cut this down but reminding myself that it has been a 5 week shopping month and next month should be easier as its only a 4 week month. I have been through my spread sheet and a whopping £72 was top ups in the coop and Mr T's expr. Less than impressed with this and will make a concerted effort to reduce this next month. The having extra meals in the freezer has helped with the last week of the month too. Will do this again next month.
So today is NSD7 . Dropped DD2 at dancing and will be going to spinning class soon.
Food:
Breakfast - porridge with banana
Lunch - 1/2 portion of tortellini and tomato and mascarpone sauce (freezer) and jelly may have then been tempted by chocolate sponge and custard by the kitchen manager
Tea - cornish pasty and mushy peas
Snack - fruit, yoghurt and oats
So payday is 5 days away (must have miscalculated the other day) and just cannot wait to get my pots reinstated to start again! October is going to be an expensive month aswell so already not looking forward to it!!!
Hope all ok xxMummytogirls x0 -
what is the hasselback chicken? I know the potatoes but not chicken. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Just the same redo but with chicken instead of potatoes. I stuffed mine with pesto, mozzarella, tomato and basil. It was delicious! xxMummytogirls x0
