Evening Diary,
Thanks SA, Bugpuss, DF0D and PLMBL for your posts, I felt a bit lost this morning but this afternoon my sister brought my nephew over and he's just so full on but it was nice to laugh at him and take our mind off it.
DD1 has a friend over to sleep for the first time ever and DD2 is off at Beaver camp so the house again feels odd!
I think il probably feel better again tomorrow.
So weve had a chinese for tea and it was soooo nice, haven't had one for ages so was a nice treat.
Hope all ok anyway xxMummytogirls x0 -
I think you recover faster over the loss of a pet compared to the loss of a person. You know deep down you only have them for a short time. If I was in your shoes I would get another dog in the not too distant future. I don't know how you feel about it but I know lots of people who have done and it's really perked them up.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Im feeling a bit mixed about another dog SA.
Pro - I can't cope with the house being as it is, weve lived here 9 years and he's always been here with us so we haven't experienced our house with him clip clopping about downstairs on the laminate! It would be nice to have someone greet us when we came home.
Con - I honestly feel like I would worry the whole time about this happening again, it was so horrific to watch and the drugs took so long to take effect with his heart condition I was getting quite stressed and wondering if we were doing the right thing with him being at home and not in the surgery. Don't think DH or I could go through that again
Weve had a chat about it today, DH thinks he couldn't get the same breed as it would be as if he would be comparing them to first one. I however feel like thats the only breed I could get!! Weve got lots of trips away back end of this year so will see how we feel in January and if we still miss having him here we might have to get another xxMummytogirls x0 -

I disagree with that a little.. I miss some of my animals than some people I've lost. dogs that were with me through really tough times that I still miss soooo much..
After losing all of our dogs in recent years, we are getting a new one in a few weeks.. the house is too empty and although we got a cat inbetween, it just isn't the same!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Afternoon Diary,
Again today I feel slightly better, tomorrow will be hard going back to work and people asking and then Tuesday we should be collecting his ashes so I think that will be hard again but then we are so busy in the week and usually on weekends that we will be kept busy.
SA and DF0D, we haven't really lost anyone tbh and this is our first pet since leaving home. DH's mums animals died after he had left home so he didn't feel as bad as he had his own by then. My nan died when I was 16 and I am still sad for her but I think I'm more sad that I never got to say goodbye. I think I've cried for my nan and dog equally!!
So DD and her friend stayed up until after 2 , nothing keeps me awake so they didn't disturb me until they came in at 2 to say they were still awake!! Then I started worrying about DD2 and couldn't get back to sleep for ages.
We are dropping DD's friend off on the way to collect DD2 at 2.30.
Thursday and Friday I hardly ate but boy I've really made up for it last night and today! We had chinese, crisps and sweets last night. This morning DH made pancakes and then I've had about 6 hobnobs! Later will be a roast followed by cadburys choc pudding.
Will get back on it tomorrow!!!
Hope all ok xMummytogirls x0 -
We have always had cats until 4 years ago when we got a dog. I can't ever imagine life without one now. I used to think I was a cat person but not so sure now. The closest person to me I've lost was my lovely mum and it hurt for a long time. Don't worry about the diet just get yourself back to normal first, do whatever it takes to feel better about things xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
