not always what I am looking for so have had to refuse some offers of exchanges. But people don't mind when you tell them that they have nothing you are interested in. I can usually find something interesting though...No reliance should be placed on the above, as i don't believe anything i say either...0 -
Have to admit that I only know about this particular website ReadItSwapIt.com from an article in one of the weekend newspapers, and have not actually tried it out yet, but plan to.
From their website:-
If you're a book-lover who likes to swap books or get new books for free,
this is the book swap site for you.
What is ReadItSwapIt?
At ReadItSwapIt, you can swap your old books for new ones. It is a free book exchange website that allows you to swap the books you don't want for the second-hand books that you do.
Do you want free books?
Are you looking for new books to read?
Would you like to give books away or recycle old books?
All you have to do is register your books and then swap them with other readers in the UK. It's that simple! And remember, it's completely free to use the site - all you pay for is the postage of sending the book.
Posting a typical 300 page paperback book second class with Royal Mail should cost you 88p. A 400 page paperback should cost £1 and a 500 page paperback £1.21 (as of 9th May 2006). You can find a full range of postal charges at the Royal Mail website. You can also buy stamps online and print your own postage.
So for those bookworms out there, it may be worth checking it out!0 -
