I got a referral from one of my mates about this site called https://www.readitswapit.co.uk, as he said he'd been using it for a couple of months and really rated it. So I checked it out
Basically what they do is act as a central hub for people who want to get rid of old books they've read, and want to read a new one - a kind of 2-way library I suppose.
It's free to register, and you enter a list of what books you've got and want to swap. Then you search all the books that other people have entered and choose which ones you want - all you have to pay is postage and that's less than a quid
I've so far got rid of 4 books I didn't want any more, and got 4 new ones that I really wanted - and it cost me less than £4. And when I've finished with these 4, I'll swap them on again. I don't tend to re-read books, so I don't lose out at all - it stops the clutter on the shelves!
I've never had any problems with deliveries or anyone else on the site, and it all seems pretty professionally run.
With Xmas coming up, a few of the relatives could be getting books in their stocking! The address is https://www.readitswapit.co.uk - hope someone out there finds it as useful as I do

Have just double-checked to make sure I hadn't made a massive mistake, and it's definitely .co.uk
If you type in https://www.readitswapit.com, it still works, but just takes you through to the .co.uk site

There's another really good service that lends books and it's completely free - no postage costs or anything. It's your local library0

I have just put a load of new/2nd hand books on Amazon to sell, but I have a boxload left over which don't seem suitable as they all seemed to be going for 1p each on the site (the ones I did end up putting on all seemed to be fetching decent prices like £4+). They are mainly women's fiction.
Can anyone please recommend the place I can sell these for at the best price? 2nd hand bookshops? Car boot?
I live in London.
Thanks!0 -
Car boot sale. Display them nicely in banana boxes, start off with high prices then be prepared to bargain.0
