Valid for overnight stays to nov 4th on limited number of rooms on B&B basis only.

Thank you, just tried to ring them but after getting through all he automated rubbish they say they closed at 6pm  why can't they state this at the start of the call - that the booking line is closed.

Thanks so much though, I'll try again tomorrow!!!

merlin passes are not valid for the waterpark. You can buy and annual waterpark pass (£60 per person?) or day tickets if there is availability (£13 adults, £10 kids rings a bell).

You can, buttrouble is you only get a discount (20% I think) in the waterpark. A little tip from a local - we go on the kids after school offer - £7.50pp last time. Or when we have holiday guests with children under 5 we suggest they do the toddler deal which has been brilliant at £5. Check this year's deals by phoning the Waterpark after 10am as they change a bit, but beware these deals are hard to find on the website.

there are plenty of good B&B near alton towers. We always go to one called the Laurels, very nice and only about a 5 min drive to the towers.
and lots more accommodation listed on the alton-staffs local village website.

Don't the Merlin Passes allow for guest? I have seen this on their website but cannot get info on whether guests get charged and if so how much. Does anyone know?
