Don't pick someone on quidco just on the basis of the best cashback as this is only a one off payment. Pick the cheapest supplier based on your actual consumption and then if you can use quidco use it as a bonus.

From comments on here nPower are not very good

    Spot on.

It might be that nPower can offer a "better deal" because they charge more in the first place.

For me, EON were cheapest using uswitch. So I cleared my cookies and used quidco.
  • I'm currently doing the same switch that you're considering (SE -> EON) and I'd say go for it. The EON deal is probably the best out there, and you're only committed for a year - so even if price changes did mean that a better deal became available in a few months' time (unlikely IMO), you wouldn't lose out greatly before you could think about switching again.

You could also check out the cashback rates on Topcashback. They are very good - I tend to use them over Quidco these days as Topcashback don't charge a £5 annual admin fee.

Looby loo, we have just applied to switch from SE to Eon. Just hope the savings are real, but it is only a 1 year contract if they are not. Ditched the standard rate for fixonline 6 plan. E mail bills are fine by me.
