Thanks Jo. I sat and discussed it with her mum last night as I didn't want to panic her into thinking I was leading her daughter down dangerous roads. DN is into Moshi Monsters and has been getting upset that we are telling her she has to be careful as she is quite a sensible little girl and thinks we don't trust her. I was thinking that a blog might steer her towards something a bit more creative and a lot more safe.
We agreed that I would do it as a fun project with DN and that we would just have people she knew being able to read it. We definitely won't make it public. Then her mum can read it without it looking as if she is policing it.
DN is into Miley Cyrus at the moment, so I think that may be a big part of her blogging. Ooh, I hope she takes to it.
I looked at blogger buster for lists of free themes and there were some really cool girly ones about.
Getting the balance right is such a hard thing as a parent. Keeping our children safe and letting them have independence and freedom which are also an important part of growing up. Its not easy for the parents or the kids. Great that you are helping out with this as another avenue.
