I assumed the poster meant do another auction with the buy it now price only and when that has been paid, then cancel the other. I dont know on price, but before you click confirm it will tell you the ebay fees so you can decide whether to proceed.

If you go into paypal, you can send an invoice to them instead, with the amount you would like ( £35 plus postage costs) and details of what it is for. If they pay that invoice, you could cancel the auction. That would save hassle of doing a second auction.

Nooooo, dont send them invoice through Paypal without setting up Ebay auction/BIN and letting them win that way

If anything went wrong then you're not covered for seller protection through Paypal/Ebay as it is classed as an off-Ebay sale
  • Im even more confused now
Grateful for help but dont know wghat to do
Not wanting to be greedy but Im trying to make money and the clothes are worth a lot more than what the bids are up to, and Ive no guarantee that they will reach £35
    hate making these desisions
  • paypal offers protection to the buyer primarily to ensure they get the right product and dont get ripped off. That protection is there regardless of whether you buy off ebay or somewhere else. As a seller, you need to have a tracking number to satisfy a dispute with paypal, which you would have.

I am not sure what seller protection you would miss out on by doing a sale off ebay? Cally6008 - can you tell me more ? I hate this whole paypal thing - I think I have it sussed, then find out I havent :(

As a buyer you would not be able to raise an INR (Item Not Received) claim but if you paid by a credit card linked to your account you could still start a chargeback claim with PayPal. (I believe)
  • So really the buyer would be taking more risks buying like that
my OH says I can just end item if more than 12 hours to go
    Is that correct
  • If anybodys still about night
    Im off to bed

    Morning!
Ebay wise you can end or amend the auction as long as it has more than 12 hours to go.
Argh, at work but figured out I can access MSE, yay :j
