Thankyou so much Dilli that's fantastic.... Just a bit concerned that I don't understand HTML or meta tags really!! So not sure there's going to be much I can do myself :-/0

Is your product or product range bloggable – if you have an interesting blog you can gain a following and showcase new products.
·Do you have twitter, about 40% of my web referrals have come from twitter. If you are able to sync this with a blog and refer to your main website you will have a good means of driving up traffic.
·Do you have a facebook fanpage – it is a good way of connecting with people and talking about products.
·Are there blogs that you could comment on related to your product field – if you can there is a way of developing backlinks and this will help increase your site ranking on google.
Just a few suggestions to get you going for now – I hope that this helps!
Joey – I can do a SEO report for you as long as you can do basic HTML and understand meta tags you should be able to implement the recommendations that I give you on your own. BUT, MoneyM is first in queue so if you still want my help I reckon it will be a bit later on in the week – Weds/Thurs. Or as you mentioned our Munchki is doing SEO too methinks. You can also download a free version of link assistant - it will give you some basic advice. Also, try this forum link I found it useful http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1702423&page=2
If you have the chance try and get company magazine. It is all about blogging and has some helpful advice and ideas. Or if you don’t want to buy it just read it in WHSmith instead...
Thanks Dilli, some really useful stuff there. I have bought myself a domain name but haven't started to build a site yet. I really am a total beginner, but having had your and others' help I got the blog going so I'm hoping that I will at least be able to make a start with the website.
I feel as if time is my enemy at the moment - I can see that there is a lot that I have to do to give this business a chance of being successful, and I've not even had time to update my blog this week. Not good as I want to link this to my business eventually. (I don't get invited out that often, but had lots of invites this week so felt I should make the most of it while the invites are there).
I have put my first bits on ebay under my new business account, but not much interest so far, which is a bit disappointing. But when I do a search for my items, even specific phrases I used in the write up, I find it difficult to find my items. Is there a way of getting them to the top of the searches on ebay? I've tried to get all the phrases people would search for in there, but it doesn't seem to be getting them noticed.
Right, off to update the blog as the first step in getting this sorted!:jI shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.0 -
Joey maybe its because others are nearer to finishing and yours will come nearer to top as other listings finish.
Am sure others will have ideas about improving it though.“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

Hi all
DD2 is over her cold, the doc said to monitor when her lip is tinged blue and how long it lasts, what she's doing at the time etc. It's not all the time but it's often enough I thought I should take her to check; she's fine otherwise, thanks! hope everyone is OK,I have figured out how to do a fringe with clay so I'm pleased, hoping once I've got some sold items and feedback on Folksy my stuff will be more likely to sell
oh and I need need need to drive! Sick of dragging the kids everywhere on bus lol. Big hugs to all, I'm meant to be painting monster masks with the kids but think I'll leave the laptop on here so can keep up wih everyone! xx

dillidalli - thanks for all the info.
Can I ask a personal question? Feel free to tell me to bog off.
Your total - how much of that is invitations? Rough percentage ? I have no interest in doing it myself, I was just going to jump up and down and rave about how well you are doing, then thought it might be primarily ebaying [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] treasures around the house, or other income.VR repayment £404 £156.02 PAID

Joey, I found it really easy to focus on my blog if I do by auto posting once a day! What I do is spend the end of the week and monday collecting the content. I then prewrite the blogs and proof read them, and then I schedule the blogs to post on specific days. I know that you can do this easily on wordpress, but I am not sure about blogger.
I still do blogs on the spur of the moment, but doing it that way means that my whole week is not overtaken. So, I am wary of the time that I spend - although blogging is addictive!!!!
So, if you try and find one day or even two where you can get some time to yourself and focus on writing it is much easier.
MoneyM - no problem! x
PaulaB - glad that DD is over her cold and good news about Folksy
When I get some time I will write a tutorial on meta tags and post it. Don't expect anything soon though! Give me a week or two for that!!!!10K 2010 challenge £3202.59/£10000

I am just about to hit factory reset on my laptop - wish me luck!
I'll be back later come what may, as I'm going to buy a nice big screen for my trusty netbook, and use that for while if this doesn't fix it...my external CD drive arrived this morning (only ordered it at 3pm yesterday - very speedy!), so I'm good to go whatever happens...
Halp...HALP!!!Stage one - declutter

MMTWGR - I could never tell you to bog off
My total from invites this year is about 10% most of my portfolio stuff that I had is from the year previous mainly - I just never got round to photographing it properly. I had so much going on with my old evil job that I was too exhausted to give it the time it deserved.
The bulk of my total is from ebay because being a technology geek I bought loads of electronics which tend not to depreciate. The best was my wii fit board which I got for £40 (littlewoods offer for new customers) and sold for double!!!
BingoBritain was also great!! But, I think it is difficult to win as loads anymore of people joined based on this thread and it went from being 1 of 20 playing to 1 of 180 ***eek***.
If you have any stuff to ebay my best bet will always be gadgets - no matter what they will sell at a decent price about 80% of the time.10K 2010 challenge £3202.59/£10000
