OK I know I sounnd a bit thick but thats because I am when it comes to this .. I just cant get my head around it.

Maths has never been my forte ever. If I write down everything, how much I bought the stock for, keeping receipts and then write down what I sell for and then write down how much it costs to send etc ... how do I work out my profit .. I know I really havent got a clue, sorry! I will have to go to tax office on my next good day see what they say.

As a side note, if your business is online, would the cost of your internet, phone line be classed as an ongoing overhead where a digital camera etc would be a direct expense to the business so these things would affect your bottom line. Also, a pc of course, and a comfy chair....

Not on JSA, am on ESA. Dr wont let me work which is probably a good thing because I can't imagine finding an employer who would be happy with me being off sick 3 times a week.

Basic idea is :- money in( sell a favour for £2 so put £2 in your money in book.

Money out, favour cost 15p to list, £1 to post - write these down seperatly and keep reciepts.

Also in moneyout would go packing supplies, materials bought etc.

At the end of the year add up both columns take out away from in and there's your profit ( or big fat loss in my case!)

not sure if any of that makes sense!!
  • Sorry guys, I went to try and make myself feel human. Have covered myself in pain gel, and am hoping it starts to work soon...

I'm really hoping that the dr has written back to me and it will arrive tomorrow, because I really need his help. I just can't do this anymore. I manage to cheer myself most of the time, but that's not enough anymore...Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks. I'll shut up about me now!

I'm working on my wedding range...I love it :)

You wouldn't be able to offset bills that you don't pay yourself. Don't know if you drive but if you do keep note of trips to post office etc and write down how many miles as you can claim (offset) 40p per mile for that.

Hope the gel works Saucy . I'm just making the first piece for my Black Rose collection :-) .... Decided against Rose Noir as although it sounds better when I speak French I sound like Delboy!!
  • Black Rose sounds gorgeous anyway, I can't wait to see it. I love the fabric you bought! Your notebook is along the same lines...I hope you like it. It'll be ready very soon, promise :)
