Ah ok, Then I assume I need to keep all recipts etc for everything I buy to make them? What do I do then at the end of the tax year if I havent earnt over £5k?
  • When you submit your tax return, (your accounts) if you have earned less than £5000ish profit (not in total, but profit) then the tax man will tell you you owe him nothing!

Details a bit squiffy as this is my first year too, but thats the general idea. Reciepts are needed to do your accounts, they all come off the total you made at the end of the year to give you your profit.

Would suggest doing it month or week at a time though, left OH's for 3 months and have only just caught up, but he is an LTD so he doesn't do self assessments, he does PAYE.

I am really hoping someone is going to jump in here and fill in the blanks!

Just updated my blog. Quite enjoyed writing it today.
    It starts:

I was searching eBay the other day to price up some ornaments I was considering selling. Unfortuantely for me there was a number of identical products on offer with no bids and a very low starting price. As I had my search to show the items ending soonest at the top, imagine my surpise when at the bottom of the second page, with 4 days remaining, I found the exact same item with a bid. It was exactly the same item as the ones listed above it, ending sooner, without bids. Not in any better condition, or packaged more securely than any other but there was something different, something unique that had made it stand out and get someone to bid on it.

Do you know what it was?...

YOu'll have to read my blog for the rest, he he he

Ye my intention was to register for the favours once I had made all my prototypes. :)

Only other thing I'm worried about is it affecting my benefits.

  • Depends which ones you are on tbh, you are best checking with the benefits office on that one.

    Babymoo - pretty I like it:D

After reading the Hatten Garden Metal thread I decided to root through my jewellery box.

I have 3 9ct gold rings, a 9ct gold bracelet and a 9ct white gold ring. Unsure how to weigh the items though because my scales are pants.

Oooh actually I also have a very heavy silver bracelet that I bought for an ex a while ago. Yay.
  • If its JSA, it is something along the lines of, everytime you sign on, you tell them your earnings for the week/fortnight and they take off a percentage of your benefits dependant on how much you earn, as long as you put in less than 16 hours a week they are ok with you claiming and being SE.
