Nikki, try getting some orange essential oil and diluting a few drops in water, then spray on the sofa (test on back first to check it doesn't mark). Can't promise it will work but I've tried the orange peel trick when one of my cats was crapping in a flower pot, and she never did it again.
  • nikki - are you just on a low ebb? I feel like that sometimes, but once the stress has gone I don't think like that.

sofa - lol, I have a chocolate one that looks like that! Its wipe clean though, thats the reason we got it, will replace it once DDs are not quite so messy and get a scratch post!

Everyone has off days, if you still feel like this tomorrow pm me and we will have a good moan and a think. Also, you have just had a baby, OHs are no where near as important or loved once you reallise the love you have for your baby. It takes a bit of getting used too.

Hope you feel better soon x

I've heard of this I think. Cats don't like the smell of citrus or something?

Will try it, although he still jumps up on my surfaces even when I clean them with CIF lemon.

I suppose its not really the cats fault, just so annoyed he destroyed something I worked hard for. Was the first 'brand new' thing I bought for my house and its not even a year old.

Low doesn't quite cover it atm. Ive felt like this for ages, just think i'd probably be happier just me and the baby.
  • you havent got pnd have you nikki? Just asking cos I went thru stage for months of thinking I didnt wanna be with anyone etc and now the pnd has lifted I feel totally differently towards oh....couldnt imagine not being with him...hormones do terrible things to do, well and having babies in general! As for the kitty thing would spraying citrus around a flowerbed also stop cat using it as a toilet? My cat moved next door but still using garden as a lav and not great come summer when kids will want to play on the lawn. I was thinking of spraying lemon on it and putting eggshells around it, or it that for slugs???
  • on money making side of things i have just agreed to take lots moe clothes from aunties for a bootsale, oh will be having my hide as house already full of crap and yet to do a bootie this year!

Sorry to hear you're feeling down Nikki, sounds like you have had enough of OH- I presume he hasn't had his lightbulb moment yet :-/ Is it just since you've had the baby that you've had enough of him? No chance it's post natal depression? Or has it been going on for a while? Does he know you feel like this- perhaps he needs to know to give him the kick he needs?

Wouldn't listen to me anyway- I'm divorced , no kids and current OH (ten years been with him) gets right on my nerves 99% of the time!
Hope you get things sorted hun.

Done all my listing, got eleven things scheduled to start tonight :-)
  • nikki - was just about to say the reason I feel the way I do is part PND and part OH is the biggest kn0b most people have ever met. The two don't make things easy, but I had it with DD1 aswell, by the time she was 1 I felt a lot better about things, then found out DD2 was on her way and it all started again.
