I LOVE ripe bananas, I hate them when they are firm in the middle.
Had a bunch that needed using so chopped one into a bowl, added some ice cream and heated Nutella and voila a yummy pud Just don't ask about the calories LOL! Something else ;o)I love ripe bananas! I eat them when most other people would turn their nose up at them. They're far sweeter. This morning I had one sliced on my porridge with a bit of golden syrup drizzled over, yum.
If they're past the point of eating, they get turned into muffins and/or banana bread.
My mum buys them when they're green and they sit in the fruit bowl until they're completely black and shrivelled up, and then they get eaten! Both mum and dad like them like that but euwgh, even I wouldn't eat them.0

Make a cakeI love bananas! and always try to use them in a cake if they are on the turn. But I never throw them away if they are too far gone I slice them up pop them under my roses and I always use the skin to polish my houseplants leaves.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Make a smoothieI'm one that likes them almost green if I'm going to eat them as a fruit. Luckily, OH and I both love the smoothies, so they never go to waste here. If we have some left and we're going away or something, I chuck them in the freezer, they're fine for smoothies when defrosted.

We quite often have 1 or 2 that go over and none of us 3 will eat them!
I confess, I used to chuck them in the bin, but for the last few weeks they've gone in the freezer to make banana bread/cake.0

Make a cakeI buy bananas and then have to wait for a week or ten days until they're good to eat. I wait patiently until the stalks have shrivelled and the skins are spotted. Under-ripe bananas taste horribly soapy to me.
If any are really past their best then banana cake is made. I generally add cocoa and chopped nuts to my recipe and on high days and holidays some chocolate chips get chucked in as well.0

Make a cakeAlmost always use mine for banana cake/bread - but saw this recipe from a blog I subscribe to - it's US so measures need to be converted - Banana Nut Cookies. Thought maybe I'd give them a try next time 0 0
