one of our sky+ boxes is becoming increasing un-stable (failed recordings, turns itself off, can't watch recordings etc.).
(it's no longer in warranty btw, it was a replacement box so i think only had 6 months on it anyway).
quite a while ago i managed to get 2 free replacement boxes (1 replaced the other a few months down the line!) by emailing the CEO office. i'm just wondering if anyone has had any success recently doing this?
the current email addy i've found is jeremy.darroch@bskyb.com
i haven't got the time or patience to go thru the call centre to try & sort this out!

You have no chance,it'll show up you've had 3 free replacement boxes so it's a certainty you wont get a 4th!!
Sky are in the business to make money, not throw it away at customer's who dont expect to pay for anything.0 -
If you are out of contract just threaten to cancel your package - worth a phone call?0

...but a phone call to Sky costs about the same as 12 months contract so maybe not???

Goes to show the poor quality of the digiboxes $ky 'gives' to its subscribers. The company should not be in a position where it has to replace receivers with such frequency. If only it would repair them by replacing rubbish capacitors instead of pretending to supplying 'refurbished' boxes, which are not refurbished at all.
There is a sticky at the top of the page giving a list of repairers.RIP independent MSE.

this happened to me constantly. I got so fed up i rang the call centre and complained that i may as well cancel as i cant watch anything anyway. They transfered me to cancellation department, I had a engineer come out in a few days. He replaced the dish and boxes in the house.0

Sassy88 is right. Theres no point in keeping the subscription if you don't have a working box. Threatening to cancel is always the route to get a free callout to sort the problems out. I did this recently in Feburary on our original Amstrad box which gave up the ghost after 9 years. Engineer promptly replaced it with a Thomson box, so hopefully this one will last a few years, otherwise its on the phone to cancellations again to get it repaired/replaced for free or my money goes to Virgin!
