Access e-mail from work

Hi all,
Does anybody know of any free e-mail accounts that can be set up so that they can be accessed from work? At work we have the facility to use the internet, but some pages are blocked due to certain 'scripts' (don't know which ones and if in fact this is the correct reason) that operate on web pages.
Normal e-mail accounts hosted by msn, bt, tiscali, etc cannot be accessed. Can anybody advise, based on experience, of any accounts that could be accessed from work?
Regards,
Julian

They do that at my workplace, but surprisingly Googlemail hasn't been blocked (yet).

As illuminate said, if your mobile phone supports it, then setting up a mail account on there is probably your best option.
There's usually a good reason why webmail and access to personal POP accounts are blocked at work. Employers have concerns about whether accounts that don't use their mail server have sufficient Anti Virus checking and there's also the element of people wasting time sending personal emails when they should be working.0 -
I rather suspect that they've blocked every form of webmail. I think they can do this by specifying the type of address, rather than having to list each provider separately.
I don't think it's the scripts that are being blocked - it's all forms of webmailWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
I have been using Yahoo mail for the last 5 years at work without problems.

Do you already have an home email account with your ISP? They may already have a webmail facility. As other people have said googlemail is quite good for a free web based email service."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
