Paying for water out of benefits???

I have just had my first water bill in 4 yrs :eek:

Looking on the website theres a section that says you can pay for it through your benefits.

Has anyone done this and how much do they take?

Why didn't you give your own readings if you didn't get a bill?

Bill is just over £2000

Actually thinking of it I don't have a water meter??? Never seen one and wouldn't know what one looks like lol!!

What is your bill based on ? Is it a metered bill or an RV bill ?

You can apply for direct payments and the DWP will work out what you can pay, it has nothing to do with the water company as they do not fix the amount of the repayment, it could be as low as £3 per fortnight. That does of course mean that the debt never gets better.
Have you looked into a trustfund ?
Also why did you not get a bill for 4 years ? Did you not chase it up ?
