I am still under shock, just been to my edf account and found out that my electricity bill from 13/10/2009 to 19/02/2010 is £2.780. I have no idea how to check, please help. I am on economy 7 tariff, live in small 2 bedroom flat on my own, have electric storage heaters, I do not use them. My meter reader is
total 00418, rate 4: 00227, rate 1: 00191

I had a look at their charges Economy 7
Band A (1000kWh p/a) inc. VAT 22.17,
Band B kWh 12.22p,
Night kWh 4.83p
Please, help to calculate. I am devasteted!!!!!! I do not know what to do!!

    Sorry not understood.

Your bill should have 3 sets of readings.

    Approx 260kWh @ 22.17p

    xxx kWh @ 12.22p

    yyy kWh @ 4.83p

Everything what i can see from my edf online account it's says current balance £ 2,746.33 !! I think it's a joke.
I do not know what to do??? No way I could spend so much for 4 months!!!
  • Surely even if they charged you at the top rate, for the 418 units you've used it would be £92 odd pounds at the most??? But using the figures given with charges for each band it would be about £77.... Is either in line to what you normally pay?

Does it show your actual meter reading rather than just the amount you used, and can you then check back to a previous statement to see if someone has entered it properly.

There is 24hour automated helpline number:
    0800 015 1736

Don't know how helpful it'll be, but definately a call to edf tomorrow i think. Hope you get it sorted okay.

    Hi

Reading the other posts it sounds like your bill is incorrect. Try not to worry too much and call EDF in the morning with your meter reading. Please post back with the results.

if it says -£2,746.33 debit, I'd worry.... if it is £2,746.33 credit I would be celebrating, you are not giving us much info to go on, is the balance debit or credit????

How much do you pay per month?
