I'm finally getting a netbook next month, and am looking for a good PAYG mobile broadband provider for when i'm out & about and take the netbook with me.
I'm looking for a very casual plan, this seems what i'm after:
http://shop.o2.co.uk/promo/o2mobilebroadband/tab/Pay_and_Go
I can't find any other network that offers similar, anyone know any better?
Have TalkTalk broadband at home so looking for some more no contract options.
Also the o2 option is 500MB per day, what would this be in terms of e-mail, facebook etc?

You need to check the 3G coverage of all the operators in the areas you are likely to want service as with most it can be very patchy outside of major cities. 3 probably has the most extensive coverage. As there is bundled WiFi check on O2 hotspots too.
500MB should last you all day easily for surfing and email and a bit of youtube but don't expect to be able to use iPlayer as well.
BT appear to have a good idea - get all their customers to have their WiFi routers set up as hotspots for other BT customers to use when roaming. Of course the major drawback to that is you'd have to use BT broadband so that's a showstopper for me.0 -
Thanks for your reply, i'm in a well built-up town but T Mobile is the only one I can't get coverage..... all the others cover both my home town & Nan & Grandad's which is out in the sticks!
Seriously thinking about the o2 deal, would love one where the credit remains unitl you use it all up but the Vodafone one I found no longer exists!0 -

There have been some links to this old Vodafone 1GB 'forever' dongle from shops like Amazon - so it's worth a look there. It's a particular dongle package that allows the top ups to last forever and will go on working this way indefinitely.
Apparently there are still some shops stocking the old model - so it is worth a hunt if that's what you'd prefer.
EDIT: I think this might be it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vodafone-K3565-Prepay-Mobile-Broadband/dp/B001P6KNQE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1267528307&sr=8-1
Keep in mind though - with the 'last forever' one 1GB costs £15... with the 'last 30 days one' you get 3GB for £15.0
