we set up sky in the bridges shopping centre in sunderland, the bloke made us fill out the form, and he rang through and arranged an installation date. then sky came out and set it all up.
hi trollfever whats the crack with posting this? i dont understand your point? yes i signed up to sky in a shopping centre....0 -
With regards to the Sky, if you stop all subscriptions then you loose the sky plus facility, cannot pause etc. But in all honesty its Cr*p what they shove on, get rid of as soon as possible, I missed my sky plus for a few days, couldn't make a coffee half through a programme anymore without missing it,but it isn;t worth the money. If you really really want the pause facility, have alook at getting freesat with the pause facility, but only after you have repaid your debts.
Can I ask, is your mortgage coming to an end on a fixed rate in the next few months, the reason I ask, is because if you write to your creditors now and ask them to freeze interest etc, it will impact on your credit rating and will affect your chances of remortaging to a better rate.0 -
mortgage is on SVR, i have a few defaults since getting my mortgage, so dont think i'd be able to fix unless i stayed with RBS.0

what an eye opener this 'being sensible' is...
looking at latest statements... owe 100 less on simplybe than i thought
and owe 140 less on next2 than id originally thought.
now doing letters to ask my creditors to freeze the accounts for 28 days while i try and sort out where and what is going to get paid off and by how much.
and an even bigger positive .... tomorrow we are having a roast dinner.... made from scratch - we have all the ingredients in the house. to be honest i'd rather have a meal like this a million times over pizza / kebab / curry etc.
i sense im going to be like a mad-man , and get overly obsessed with getting rid of all our debt.............. wife will be on 40 a day at the end of this !!
haha i think everyone on this forum can agree that becoming debt free does become an obsession, my teenage step daughter is always having a go at me because i dont spend anything more than is essential
i am so glad you are really getting stuck into this, just please try to remember to include your wife in what you are doing as i know from experience that it can cause arguements when one of you wants to become debt free because you have had 'your lightblub moment' but the other hasnt quite had 'their lightblub moment'Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
SVR is great at the moment, and according to SKY News they don't look set to increase this year, so you have no worries there then.
Are you in arrears with your mortgage at all?
You have come such a long way since your first post, well done, I hope your OH is on board too, it will make it so much easier.
I would personally send all letters to creditors recorded delivery but I WOULDN'T SIGN THEM, SIMPLY TYPE YOUR NAME, and then track them on the Royal mail website and print off the POD, they can't say they haven't had them.0 -
The o2 number I gave you, put into your contacts in your phones and you can txt them each day to find out your allowance, you will never ever need to go over your minutes again. Also put an alarm on in your phone as 9 months into the contract, o2 will let you drop down to the next package, it may only save you £5, but you can do this every month after month 9 until you are on the lowest package. You could save at least £20 per month per phone if you do this.0

yeah i will include 'wor lass' in this... she knows we have to sort it out ourselves... will try and get her to look on this site... but she seems to think message boards and forums are for geeks!
she's too cool for these websites!!0 -
Alot of us on here are female:D, and I am certainly not a geek!
Get your wife to join us and we could point her in the direction of Old style board, meal planning, discount shopping codes etc. Honestly you will not need SKY Plus, you won't have the time to watch it.0 -
yeah, we have left the mortgage on SVR as i'd read / heard that we have about a year before we will see any real change.... fingers crossed.
never been in arrears with mortgage. once paid it 2 days late when accidently cancelled the direct debit when i was supposed to cancel another one.
will send the letters recorded, that way at least they cant get 'lost'.
i have saved that o2 number... cant understand why they told me i should log into the website to get a balance when i could have just texted!?
i have 450+ minutes and 500+ texts left until the 16th march, so i will be within my limit. probably dont need the minutes i have, but the texts will be close to all used up. and only one charge outside of allowance... 2.47+vat.... so should have a bill under 40 for my phone. banning myself from betnow was a good move!0 -

i'll get her onto the old style board, as she does make good food when she has the ideas to do it... went through a phase of having awesome soups... but i think we over-did soups! and she doesnt like my cooking!!! i kill vegetables and she wasnt impressed with fishfinger chow mein!
im also like a woman, love discount codes!! im forever doing tesco out of delivery charges or a 10 pound new customer code!!0
