In my opinion better than vodaphone which seems only to offer 18 month contracts and the only advantage is more texts but for £30 isnt 1000 enough? And orange always seem to have shops nearby and great signal, their staff have always been great to me, i am a loyal customer of 6 years lol. Plus with the magic number you can call someone for free for six months!! xx0 -

yay thanks
found my old nus (red card) and the number from that works but the latest (green card) doesn't. Convinced me to stick with orange, just one small point; I can't find the bonuses for buying online?- is that only for 18 month contracts. Or are they already added on.. also bit strange the 12 and 18 month contracts are exactly the same minutes/texts.
edit: nvm was reading the normal contracts not the student ones.0 -
Their are some free orange payg sims going here. You need to register by 4pm on thursday to get one.

I'm currently on O2 PAYG and for £10 a month i recieve
1,250 mins (mixture of 3 separate packages)
300 texts
1Mb WAP
25 picture messages
In terms of PAYG, O2 is definetly the best the only one that comes close is Orange by giving 1000 texts and 600mins (but you have to top up £15, i think)0 -
Phone companies do student contracts?!
This is new to me, I got my contract with 02 last year and they never mentioned any student discount or anything. Can I afford to buy? Mortgage Affordability Calculator

i decided NOT to go for a student deal. Got a brilliant one from three. 1000 texts, plus 300 mins (doubled for first 6 months) with, 50 free mms, 50 free video calls and £5 worht of donwloads a month. (plus free msn! haha)
This came witha refurbished nokia 6280, which i love and cannot even tell its refurbished!! looks absolutely brand new. On an 18 month contract for £30, but half pricefor 18 months... so £15 a month for all that. It's in the clearance section on the three website.Member of the 20p Savers Club: £2.60 saved since 24/04/06

Remember go through quidco and you get £40 cashback for a contract... altho when we did ours it went in our earnings as £75!! so a absolutely brilliant deal! hope this is helpful

ive decided to go with the orange student tariff(100mins+1000text). With previous phones they hardly last the 12months! So for me the 18month vodafone tariff was out of the question, and as i had troubles with O2 in recent months with billing, i opted for orange.
I had a look at Tmobile, but i wasnt too sure about their service, so went with orange. I was with orange with my first mobile then skipped to O2 when they started doing online only tariffs.
I can always change in 12 months if i dont like them:)
Oh and to sign up i used my 9 digit UCAS number, it let me sign on up.
Only thing is, does anyone know if you get a free trial for video calls/internet like on other plans?0
