So to confirm with the Halifax Reward and RBS Reward account - You can only have 1 single account and 1 joint account with each institution?
If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)

    Overnight - tonight.

I have just signed up for the Halifax Reward account - You get your fiver during the early hours on the 2nd of each month?

No, one sole, and one joint across both brands. Halifax is a brand name for Bank of Scotland (not RBS), so anyone who holds a Halifax Reward Current Account, effectively holds a BoS Reward Current Account - i.e. it's the same bank.

Normally, quoted time by HBOS is within 10 days of the following calendar month. However I've always had my £5 paid on the 2nd.
Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

Looks like I missed the boat on this one! Just one account for me then, Halifax. Looks like a few people have got a few accounts.....

Yurp, HBOS tightened up their T&C's on 01/11/09, before then you could have three Reward Current Accounts. :(

Are there any other institutions that offer a similar Reward scheme. Did a few searches, but nothing quite like HBoS

Better than nothing, you don't even need to use the account. Just transfer £1k in an out on the same day. The T&C's might be strict on the number of accounts you can hold, but the criteria to qualify for £5 Reward is practically non-existant.

    Oh, I'm sure they realise .... ;)
And no doubt someone's took a bit of stick over the rather lax T&Cs :D
They just haven't decided whether to do anything more about it yet, and if (in the big scheme of things) it's worth the cost & effort (beyond the restrictions on accounts held).
After all, they have got some personal details on you for the cost of a fiver a month (for new accounts). Fair trade ...?
