I watch Ashes to Ashes not for the plot or the acting which is appaling but for the 80's fashions and attitudes fab

Ann, we will all have a reunion one day and we can behave really disgracefully. We might be banned from MSE for bringing it into disrepute!!!!

Hi Mouseann here is an adapted poem by Elizabeth Lucas I've always loved this as I think I have always been a bit eccentric
    WARNING
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens . . .

The ending of the poem pleases its readers when the woman says . . .

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple:D
”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
    Put on some lipstick
    and pull yourself together”

Here is another poem given to me by my sons ex teacher when she heard he had become very ill this was 5 years after he left school. So another fantastic teacher that cares about her pupils however old they get.
Is an adapted version written by A. A. Milne called Wherever you are....

Wherever I am, there's always you
    There's always you and me.
Whatever I do, he wants to do,
"Where are you going today?" says you
"Well, that's very odd 'cos I was too.
Let's go together," says you, says he.
    "Let's go together," says you

"Let's look for dragons," I said to you.
"Yes, let's," said you to Me.
We crossed the river and found a few-
"Yes, those are dragons all right," said you
"As soon as I saw their beaks I knew.
That's what they are," said you, said he.
"That's what they are," said you.

"Let's frighten the dragons," I said to you.
"That's right," said you to me.
"I'm not afraid," I said to you,
And I held his hand and I shouted "Shoo!
Silly old dragons!"- and off they flew.

"I wasn't afraid," said you, said he,
    "I'm never afraid with you."

So wherever I am, there's always you,
    There's always you and Me.
"What would I do?" I said to you,
"If it wasn't for you," and you said: "True,
It isn't much fun for One, but Two,
Can stick together, says you, says he. "That's how it is," says you.

think it sums up anyone struggling, and has found a true friend.....
”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
    Put on some lipstick
    and pull yourself together”
