Hi everyone, just popped back on here for a few minutes to see what's been going on.
I was supposed to be getting some work done this afternoon but I ended up having a very long soak in the bath with my book and then a bit of a pampering session. Then I lazed on the sofa watching About a Boy - the work can wait until tomorrow!!
I got a phone call about an hour ago asking me if I wanted to go out tonight but a) I can't afford, b) can't really be bothered and c) I promised myself I'd get up early tomorrow and get some work done! I won't be able to do that if I'm hungover.
Thank you all for your kind words about my possible (probable) bankruptcy. I think it's for the best.
I've been posting on the Bankruptcy board and the people over there are as lovely and helpful as you are. It's great to have someone to talk to, especially people who understand the roller-coaster of emotions that dealing with debt brings.
Sorry for such a long post.0 -
Hi Pixiechick,
Please don't apologise for the length of the post!
It is very endearing that you feel you can confide in us - I can identify so much with what you are saying - I had my head buried for so long and was also robbing Peter to pay Paul. And, as everyone on here knows, it took me nearly a month to work out exactly how much my debts were - and I could hardly believe it when I finally did work it out!
You have your whole working career ahead of you and when you do get a contract post you will be able to start again. I wish I had sorted myself out before I retired, but such is hindsight!
Whatever you decide, please keep us updated with your progress - even if it is just posting a link to a thread on the other board. We are all there for you."What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
Hello pixie chick,
I hope that someone on that site can help you out.
If you subscribe to the TES full time jobs (12 weeks paid holiday, decent pensions) will be advertised for teaching but you may have to move house. I had to as the agencies controlled most of the jobs in my home town which meant salaries were not v good.
I have a funny feeling i may have told someone this before on MSE (maybe it was you?)
Please dont give up. As you will see from this thread everything is workable. You are in safe hands on here. Have you met NID and GeorgeUK?Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -

Hi all,
Pixiechick, SW has made a very good point about NID and George. They may well be able to help with the enforceability (or not!) of some of these debts. Might be worth looking at.
Am off to bed myself soon.

Not got a problem with the computer this time Ann, just neices staying so can't get access to room (and have the power switched off at the mains and at the back of the computer so they don't fry another motherboard!!)
Got my fingers crossed that you can get this sorted one way or another Pixiechick.

Reading the posts about trampolining reminded me about Tom Sharpe's Wilt books - hilarious reading if you can get hold of them. The character Wilt is a college lecturer henpecked by his wife who is not the brightest star in the universe. Once she had a craze about keep fit and bought a trampoline. There was no room for it anywhere in the house so she had a bright idea - keep it in the greenhouse......!!!! the neighbours never did get over the shock....One life - your life - live it!0
