facebook on mobile phone deals
Hi,
I'm not sure I actually understand what I'm asking but I've found MSE to be a wonderful place for advice before.
My DD has a virgin PAYG, she wants a "proper" phone for her birthday, one that she can keep tabs on facebook. I don't know if she means via wifi or by the phone deal.
iphones seem to be incredibly expensive, and other deals seem to be expensive too.
Is it possible to get a reasonable decent mobile handset she could use for around (or under) £20 a month (the contract would be in my name - & yes I realise that could be a whole set of problems). Is there much difference in network quality for internet access?
Thanks in advance
KC

I just bought a PAYG phone on o2 a Nokia 5230 at £110. Has a handy facebook widget on. It uses 3G. I opted into the unlimited o2 texts and web PAYG tariff whenever you top up £15. I don't know if this tariff is still available.:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

I got two of my girls Samsung Genios on Orange Dolphin PAYG. This has 300 texts and a free access to facebook, bebo and myspace.
One Genio has the keyboard and is similar to a Blackberry, the other is the touchscreen version. No complaints from the kids about the phones. There is now a version with a sliding keyboard. Phones are about £70
Have a look at some of the O2 and T-mobile contracts though, as you can get unlimited texts and data and a few hundred minutes on £15/m plans
And IIRC, if you get a PAYG mobile from w w w mobiles .co. uk they all come unlocked, at no more cost than a locked one from other suppliers0 -

Actually, Dolphin now gives free access to ANY internet sites, up to a 50mb a month limit when you top up £10 each month. 50mb is probably enough for them to access Facebook and post comments but not if they're downloading / uploading lots of photos.0
