The reason for this is I will have to send both my passport and driving licence as ID to an online gaming site, I'm just concerned they may start trouble if the two signatures don't match.

I'm not bothered about the cost, it will need renewing later this year anyway. So my question now is, can I renew it 6 months before the expiry date?

The words "theft" and "identity " spring to mind.
For an on-line gaming site you have to be joking!
Sounds too much like a scam :(

    Which site?

That's exactly what I was thinking. The last time an online gambling site wanted to check my identity, they just asked for a credit card in my name to debit a pound then refund it. If the request was authorised by the bank, then they knew the card was in my name and I was over 18.

It was for an Australian bookmaker, which are subject to much much more stringent identity checking regulations than European bookies. They operate a "points" system and you have to achieve the required number of points before you can withdraw money - so nothing to worry about. Plus I have identity theft alerts and nothing bad has happened (touch wood)

In fact the Aussie bookies are so strict the photocopies have to be notarised (which I had done at the Post Office)
