Yeah.. well I'm always looking out for better jobs..it's easy to stay in your comfort zone though!!! As I mentioned I applied for a good job this week so we're see. Plus I'm doing the courses etc which will all pay off in the long run.
Unfortunately I need to do the OT to get debt free quicker (no other reason!) I can't moan as I'm on a really good incentive i.e If I can get 10 hours work completed in 4 , then I just go in do 4 hours and aslong as I get 10 hours worth done I get paid the extra I haven't actually worked! But I see your point even my last P60 was taxable income £20.5k.. but it's all signed off by HR and if they had probs they would just stop the OT I'm one of the few that can acutally get Backlogs down (and processing work isn't my job role!). But if I carry on as I have this tax year so far I'll be looking at £26k.
I definately won't be making all the extra effort I used to do come in early attend meetings, deputising etc. The thing is if I get a internal job somewhere better I can still got back and do O/T from my old department on my new (hopefully better) salary!!
I think I'm feeling better now.. it's not the end of the world!!! I know where I want to be heading, just got to plough on through and get there!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

Good news..I just spoke to my previous manager (got a new one last year which might be where the problemm lays) who works in the same area as she was shocked at what I got. Apparently the role below me, have a new guideprice of £17,250 (was £16,500) which means there are people with less responsiblities getting paid more then me.
She said I should defo take it to my top "boss" so that I am! Will let you know what happens!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

Well my working life took a very strange turn the other date.
After my hopes being built up on 21st of July I was flattly refused any futher increase, the excuse was.. well I'm not at my guideprice!! Like I care what my senior manager is on.. not that he deserves the he's guideprice.
Anyway.. I moved to daytime and after a service review it came to light that there was not enough trainers in the area so they recruited one more. Lucky I am good friend with him and he told me he had been offered £17k. I was really dissappointed as I had been in the role over 18 month and I still wasn't on that.
Anyhoo.. I'm glad he told me and I don't hold anything against him for that (or the situation we're in!). I went above my senior manager this time and expressed I was concerned that newly appointed people were on more ££ than me. They said they'd get back.
Well she agreed that I would be matched to the new person, not amazing but better then nowt!!! Anyways got my letter today and they've given me an extra £250 on top!
I can't believe that what I orginally asked for was flattly refused, and then they go and give me more via different manager. So my original payrise of 4.8% has jumped to 7.8%
I just thought I'd update the post with the good news!! On the other note I've also not done any overtime this month, hoping this impacts will be noticed.. well infact I know it has!

Thats great news, well done. Another thing to remember is that they must think you are worth alot to be paying and sending you on the courses, they obviously would like you to stay with them.
Congrats on your payrise!!!

Great news! Like a lot of moneysaving/earning, it's all about systems assumingf that if you say nothing then you're happy.I can't believe that what I orginally asked for was flattly refused, and then they go and give me more via different manager. So my original payrise of 4.8% has jumped to 7.8%Happy chappy0 -
brilliant to get an update on this ...thankyou for keeping us in touch...and it does go to show that if you dont say anything then they just assume your happy...i finally got my svq3 (that's another chapter altogther) and will now go up to my official paypoint...but i still feel cheated as now i dont get another bonus for a year ....i am more qualified than my boss and have more experiance ..i just wasnt in the company at the right time ...so it will take me longer to get what i am due...but i am totally happy you have a result..congrats..and enjoy the extra money ..YOU ARE WORTH IT0
