Thanks everyone, you have all been so kind and helpful. I am now deciding which is the best programme to choose. The Avast programme which I downloaded in a panic t'other night has been telling me it has upgraded (or something similar) everyday bless it, so that is good for someone as dippy as me!

    Cheers folks
Many people like that Avast feature - me included. Well done Louisa!:T:T

You need to use the McAfee removal tool before you do anything else.
I did use that macman, would you suggest I do it a second time to make certain it had been completely removed? I would be happy to do that.

Won't do any harm I suppose; make sure Norton is removed from add/remove programs in control panel - in other words, it's no longer there ;)
